Founder of B. McGuire Marketing

Brian McGuire

I help small business owners make clearer marketing decisions, focus on what matters, and avoid wasting time and money on tactics that do not fit the business.Through B. McGuire Marketing, I work with businesses that want practical guidance, honest recommendations, and a simpler path forward. The goal is not to do more marketing for the sake of it. It is to identify what is getting in the way, decide what is worth fixing, and take the next sensible step.

About Brian

I founded B. McGuire Marketing to give small business owners a more practical alternative to the traditional agency model.

Too often, marketing becomes a collection of disconnected services, confusing reports, and ongoing expenses that are difficult to evaluate. Business owners are told they need a new website, more social media, paid ads, SEO, video, automation, or another tool before anyone has taken the time to understand the real problem.

My approach starts differently.

First, I try to understand the business, the customer, the current marketing, and what the owner is actually trying to improve. From there, we can separate the priorities from the distractions and decide what makes sense.

That may mean helping a business get found more easily, strengthen trust with potential customers, improve its website, create a better follow-up process, or stop investing in something that is not producing enough value.

The right answer is not always more marketing. Sometimes it is better positioning, a clearer message, a more focused plan, or fewer moving parts.

How I Think About Marketing

Good marketing should make the business easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to choose.

It should also make sense for the size of the business, its budget, its capacity, and the way the owner wants to work.

I believe small businesses benefit most from marketing that is:

Practical

Recommendations should be realistic to maintain and appropriate for the business.

Focused

A few clear priorities usually create more value than a long list of disconnected activities.

Honest

Not every business needs every service. A useful recommendation may be to wait, simplify, improve what already exists, or avoid an unnecessary expense.

Understandable

Business owners should know what is being done, why it matters, and what role it plays in the larger picture.

What I Write About

I write about the marketing decisions small business owners regularly face, including:

  • How to decide what to prioritize
  • When a website needs improvement
  • How businesses can become easier to find
  • What helps customers trust a business
  • How to evaluate marketing services and investments
  • Where AI can genuinely help a small business
  • How to avoid unnecessary complexity

The articles are intended to provide useful context and practical judgment, not generic advice or a sales pitch.
